Coquette’s

New Items Are Constantly Arriving at Coquette’s

Parasols, to protect one’s skin from our brilliant Saskatchewan sun, are now available in Coquette’s. These are made by a firm in Vancouver, which was established in 1935, and they come with a Warranty. Made of brilliantly colored silk, in blue, bronze, pink, maroon and two shades of green and embroidered with tiny flowers, they are hand-stitched and have bamboo handles.

Headbands for baby girls, made by Megan Real of Regina, are also new, and are flying off their display stand. Megan, a former hairdresser, uses only the softest of fabrics for the bands, and places a piece of fluffy flannel under the seam and site of the flower attachment. Gillian, our store manager’s daughter, has several, to coordinate with different outfits.

There is a large selection of “Garden Party Hats” this year and they are selling fast. All have been made exclusively for Coquette’s, so each is unique. In addition to the beautiful lightweight straw hats with large, shady brims, there are also smaller hats including some very attractive crochet hats with exquisite decoration. All are from Elsie Massey Originals which is a fourth-generation family business manufacturing fine Victorian millinery and clothing, originating in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. Each elegant design is hand-made in the USA using delicate fabrics, fine, soft trims, custom-dyed feathers and plumes, elegant flowers and special English netting.

See under Coquette’s Fashion on this website for examples of these items.
